Katie Ratto is a lifelong resident of the Bay Area, aside from the five years outside the community while she obtained a bachelor’s degree in sociology from California State University, Sacramento.

Her roots run deep in the Bay Area real estate business as well. Her father is a contractor who renovates, develops, and sells houses. So, Katie has been around the business her entire life — learning about best practices in structural design and construction of homebuilding. It has given her a practical appreciation of what’s important in preparing a house for sale or choosing one to buy.

It also takes imagination to see the potential in a house. In addition to her sociology degree, Katie studied interior design, so she can envision effective furniture layouts or whole house reconfigurations with an eye for aesthetics and an ear for her clients. She says it’s especially rewarding for her to walk through with buyers or advise sellers, cultivating their tastes to satisfy their wants.

She enjoys working with younger first-time buyers, people making the transition from a rental, and others looking to make an investment, flip a house, and build wealth. Following ever-changing trends in the market and staying current is essential to Katie’s artistic approach as her love of design motivates her to stay relevant and continue to learn.

In fact, if she were not a real estate professional, Katie would be working in an art gallery. She’s also passionate about advocating for the humane treatment of animals, volunteering, and organizing fundraisers for pets in need.
